Learn More About OER

Open Educational Resources (OER) have the ability to not only impact textbook affordability, but education worldwide.

OER are research, teaching, and learning materials that have been licensed with a Creative Commons license which allows them to be used and shared without fees.  This is really a movement by instructors who want to have freedom in their teaching practices, to give their students the best learning environment, to make education affordable for everyone, and to engage with their colleagues around the globe.  The open education movement has grown into a global community.  Here are some basics about that community and how you can become a part of it.

The cost of education is increasingly the responsibility of today's student.
Tuition is no longer comparable to what student can afford
Teachers can't fix tuition, but they can do something about the textbook they assign.
